GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender

GoToMyPC subscribers can install and activate GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender on Windows computers in their GoToMyPC account.

Once you have installed GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender to your computers, you can manage antivirus status, updates, and more from within the Antivirus dashboard in GoToMyPC.

What is GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender

GoTo Antivirus uses a Bitdefender engine to get real-time information to proactively identify and protect against unique, sophisticated threats.

The following features are included in GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender when installed on a workstation:

  • Anti-phishing
  • AV policy or real-time protection
  • AV software version
  • Behavioral Scan
  • Exclusion list
  • File Scan
  • Protection against ransomware
  • Silent install
  • Traffic Scan
  • USB scan

The following features are included in GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender when installed on a server:

  • File Scan
  • USB scan
  • Exclusion list
  • Silent install

System Requirements for GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender:

  • Windows 7 or newer (including 64-bit)
  • Windows Server 2008R2 or newer (including 64-bit)
  • GoToMyPC version 3142 or higher
Note: When installed on servers, GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender runs with a reduced feature set.

Installing GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender

How to install and activate GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender on any Windows host.

Who can use this feature? The ability to activate and manage GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender is available to any Account Holder of a GoToMyPC subscription.
Important: To ensure optimal performance, all other anti-virus software, except Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, must be manually removed from the host.

Installing GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender for Personal and Pro accounts

  1. In GoToMyPC, go to My Computers.
  2. Select the Install Antivirus button next to the computer you want to have GoTo Antivirus installed.

    Required host software: On Windows, version 3142 or higher.

Installing GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender for Corporate accounts

  1. In GoToMyPC, go to Manage Groups or Manage GoTo Antivirus tab.
  2. Select the checkbox for each computer you want to work with.

    The Install GoTo AV button is activated next to the computers.

    Required host software: On Windows, version 3142 or higher.

GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender remains active as long as a host remains attached to your GoToMyPC account. Activation renews automatically every 30 days.

As with other GoToMyPC features, if you have trouble with the GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender installation, contact GoTo Customer Support.

Removing GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender

GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender is a separate software and not removed when you uninstall the GoToMyPC host software from a computer.

When you remove GoToMyPC or detach a host from your account, GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender remains installed but does not renew. GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender eventually notifies the host-side user that the service is no longer active.

To remove GoTo Antivirus powered by Bitdefender from a host, you must manually uninstall it.
